WELCOME!
RocDarling Films is a new breed of film company. With the heart of an independent and energy of a giant, our door is open to our fans and ear is always to the street. As a production company, we are fond of art house and review driven films. We take great pride in our work being pinpoint accurate to our hip audience and worthy of their support. In fact, we are audience. We’re not the conglomerate studio set or “on the outside looking in” hoping to exploit a lifestyle or subject we know little about. All our projects are personal to us and hold infinite value in our lives as well as the marketplace. We represent not only a film company but also a new generation.
We specialize on hard-hitting feature documentaries as well as engage in the development and production of motion pictures for theatrical release. Our mission is to make innovative works that provoke, inspire, entertain and most of all, represent the voice of our core audience.
We also champion new talent and the creative efforts of young artists whether it be actors, writers, composers, editors, technicians, directors or producers. We’re known to house our own talent, a new kind of “Brat Pack” if you will, and closely support our artists from conception, development to production and distribution.
If you would like to inquire about becoming part of our network or looking for assistance with your film endeavors, CONTACT US and tell us your story.
THE BRAT PACK AND FRIENDS!
April Maiya | Director and Producer
April is our resident “It Girl” and is responsible for producing and directing Life After Death: The Movie (2007) and the currently in production Biggie Smalls: Rap Phenomenon. April’s unorthodox style and passion for non-fiction stories has made her a force in the documentary genre. She has the uncanny ability to produce the most candid interviews from subjects that would otherwise decline to talk. Her steadfast integrity is rare in the entertainment world and translates into her critically acclaimed work. She is currently adapting an original screenplay that promises to be her breakout commercial sensation.
Kalefe Williams | Assistant Producer
Kalefe is on the road to becoming our newest filmmaker. He is currently learning the art of filmmaking by assisting our Producers and Directors. Whether it’s hands-on production or post responsibilities, Kalefe is always eager to learn and no task is ever too big or too small. Always the people person, you can usually find Kalefe at a screening or event networking promoting our projects. Kalefe is currently developing “The Father of the Gods,” a feature that will no doubt garner great honors for the young Producer.
Tristan Prescott | Director and Editor
Tristan is our resident super guerilla filmmaker. He can make your movie on less than a shoe string budget if you’re lucky enough to captivate his interest. Tristan is a bonafide expert on all aspects of film production from directing and shooting to editing. Tristan borders genius and mad when it comes to anything technical and with problems always guaranteed in post-production, he can trouble-shoot any setback with ease. Tristan is currently on the cusp of developing an insanely popular feature, think “Max Max” meets “Waterworld” and stay tuned!!!
JR Skola | Director and Sound Design
JR is an asset to our operation and is responsible for making sure our projects sound
like Star Wars 5. Fresh out of NYU Film School, JR is not only a sound design extraordinaire, his love for filmmaking has recently brought him behind the Director’s chair. With a his genuinely kind character, true artistry and impeccable ear, we are extremely pleased to have JR in our network and look forward to watching him grow in his profession endeavors.
Jed I. Rosenberg | Director and Editor
Receiving honorary mention is our newest discovery, Jed aka Jed I. Master aka on his way to “Yoda” status. Jed executed a surprise attack on us when he single-handedly beat out other editors with longer resumes and bigger toys when delivered to us an amazing teaser trailer on spec for Biggie Smalls: Rap Phenomenon. His unrivaled knowledge of music matched with his sharp editing style and humble demeanor makes Jed our official ace. A man of little words, you will just have to watch and see Jed become a mover and shaker in the film world.
Dionte Rivers | Art Director
Dionte is the latest addition to our talent pool. Dionte makes sure our art direction and website are on point and works directly with our Directors to ensure the best graphics are in place for motion. With a keen eye for what he does best, we are extremely pleased to have Dionte on our team. Keep your eye on Dionte, he is definitely an “up and comer” in the business.
SPECIAL THANKS to actor Jamie Hector for his narrative role in Life After Death: The Movie and the legendary Christopher “Notorious B.I.G.” Wallace for his epic original music and inspiration.
